The Sapta Tālā Alankārās
As has been discussed in the theoretical lessons, the Sapta Tāla Alankārās are the "Ornaments of the Seven Tālās". The Sapta Tāla Alankārās are exercises fit to the seven different tālās for you to practise them. It is primarily meant to be sung in Māyamālavagowla, but should also be practised in a variety of different rāgās — such as Śankarābharanam, Kalyānī, and Tōdi — for improvement in not only tālam, but also in mastering different swarasthānās.

Gītās
As you learned from the theoretical portion, gītās are the simplest melodic form in Carnatic Music, very suitable for beginners. The gītās you will be learning in this section will guide you to more advanced styles of music, such as swarājatīs and varnams.

Sri Gananātha

Kamala Jādala is another gītam written by Purandaradasa. It is set to Kalyāni rāgam and Tisra Jāti Triputa tālam. Till now, you must have only sung in rāgās with Suddha Madhyamam (M1), but through this gītam, you will be introduced to Prati Madhyamam (M2).
Harikēdaragowla Lakshana Gītam
The Harikēdaragowla Lakshana Gītam is a Lakshana Gītam set to Ādi tālam and Harikēdaragowla rāgam. As discussed in the theory section, a Lakshana Gītam is a type of gītam that describes the qualities, or "lakshanās," of a rāgā. As the name of the gītam suggests, this gītam narrates the qualities of the Harikēdaragowla rāgam. Watch the video to master this piece and learn the meaning of the sāhitya.
